The new Ro-Ro shipping line for unaccompanied rolled cargo will be operational from March 9
Huelva, March 6, 2025 – SUARDIAZ Group and GTO (Grupo Transonuba) have formed an alliance to launch a new maritime route between the ports of Huelva and Tanger Med.
The new service, set to commence operations on March 9, will be a Ro-Ro shipping line for unaccompanied rolled cargo, handling all types of freight, including dry cargo, refrigerated goods, and IMO-classified shipments.
This new service will operate six weekly departures, running on a daily rotation from Monday to Saturday between Huelva and Tanger, with a transit time of just six hours.
According to Esteban Sánchez, President of GTO, “This route complements the existing maritime connections between Europe and Morocco, offering the market an alternative solution that aims to meet customer expectations in terms of frequency, reliability, and efficiency. Our goal is to accommodate a growing trade volume, which is expected to double over the next five years.”
For Marcos Duato, Director of SUARDIAZ Shipping Lines, “The alliance between SUARDIAZ and GTO represents a strategic commitment by both companies to meet the current demands of the market. Their extensive experience in road transport, combined with our expertise in maritime transport for rolled cargo, makes for the perfect combination to provide an efficient and reliable service to customers across Europe seeking transport connections between Morocco and the European continent.”
With this new maritime service, an additional logistics solution is now available to connect the Iberian Peninsula and Morocco, streamlining customs procedures through an efficient service that optimizes the supply chain.
